Summer in North East Fife & Tour

North East Fife is full of incredible local events and a warm welcome wherever you go. Every Recess I’m reminded just how lucky we are to live in a place where community spirit is alive and well, and where so many people volunteer their time to make things happen.

Last weekend I was at the Morison Duncan Hall’s Charity Afternoon Tea in Gauldry. It was a brilliant afternoon - not just because of the delicious cakes, but because of the effort and heart that clearly went into organising it. This time the event raised money for Diabetes UK and Alzheimer’s UK, both hugely important causes, and it was wonderful to see so many people come together in support.

Events like these are part of what makes North East Fife so special. From charity teas to festivals, markets, and local shows, they bring us together, support good causes, and showcase the very best of our area. And of course, alongside that, we’re spoilt for choice with fantastic hospitality - whether it’s local cafés, family-run restaurants, or farm shops and producers. It’s no wonder visitors flock here, but it’s also something that makes us proud as residents too. But we absolutely shouldn’t take this vibrancy for granted – volunteers need to be supported, and local businesses continue to feel the effects of inflated supply and employer costs.

I’m really looking forward to seeing even more of that community spirit over the next couple of weeks as my Summer Tour gets underway. Although I door knock all year round to speak to as many constituents as possible, the Summer Tour is a great opportunity for even more people to share their concerns and issues with me. It’s always one of the highlights of my year - a chance to travel right across the constituency, meet people face to face, and hear directly about the issues that matter most to you.

I’ve already been in Leven, and in the days ahead I’ll be heading to the East Neuk & Landward (21st August), Tay Bridgehead (22nd August), St Andrews (25th August), Cupar & District (27th August), and Howe of Fife & Tay Coast (29th August). You can find full details on my social media accounts.

Whether it’s about local services, transport, housing, or national issues, we want to hear from you. So if I’m in your area, please do come along and say hello, or if you can’t make it, get in touch with me on wendy.chamberlain.mp@parliament.uk
