Wendy Chamberlain has been re-selected by her local party as their candidate for the next general election.
At a meeting of North East Fife Liberal Democrat members last week, Ms Chamberlain was unanimously chosen to represent the party in the next election. She has served as the constituency’s MP since 2019, after first being selected in 2018.
Wendy Chamberlain said:
“I am delighted that local members in North East Fife have unanimously endorsed me as their candidate for the next election. Their hard work and support has been essential to getting me to this point.
“The period since I was first elected in 2019 has been characterised by unprecedented challenges, from the covid pandemic to the current economic crisis. Being the MP during this time allowed me to see the commitment and support provided by many local community groups. I am grateful to them for what they have done to support people in North East Fife.
“It has also been a privilege for me to have the opportunity to serve my constituents. Ultimately this job is about helping people and I am proud of what I have been able to achieve. I also want to thank my staff for making this work possible.
“I look forward to fighting the next election, whenever it comes, with typical Liberal Democrat energy and enthusiasm. Until then I will continue to help any constituent who seeks out my support.”
